Orion Optics Shop started in a cluttered home office in 2026, surrounded by half-unboxed cameras, a soldering iron that had seen better days, and a growing pile of notebooks filled with spec comparisons. We were tired of shopping for electronics and feeling like we needed a translator just to figure out which mid-range mirrorless was actually worth the money. So we decided to do the homework ourselves, and share what we found.

What We Do

We curate electronics that punch above their price tag. Not the loudest brands, not the flashiest launches — just the gear that holds up after the unboxing video ends. Every product we recommend has been measured against three simple questions:

Who We Are

Our small editorial team has spent the last decade in and around consumer electronics — former camera-store staff, a retired AV installer, a software engineer who reviews keyboards on weekends, and a photographer who has opinions about lens coatings.
